The Album is out! it turned out great and I’m really excited to share it with everyone.
The title track SHINE speaks to the heart of the album. Its all about having passion to share Gods love with others. When I think about it there’s nothing really special or exciting about me personally. Rather than trying to impress people, I think the best way to bring people to God is by letting them see Gods love actively working in our lives. Its all about loving God and letting him shape us so that he can use us to bring others to closer to him.
Musically the album is high energy and modern. The sound is something you would expect to hear at a rock concert. The songs were all written by my husband and me. We’ve been married for 4 years now and both of us have written music since before we met. For this record we wanted everything to feel fresh, new, and relevant to what God is doing in us and the world today. So, we left out all of the songs we had previously written and started writing with a blank page. It’s always a little scary to put down the old songs you love and start writing new ones. You never know what the result will be. Were definitely glad we did it because we really feel like God has breathed life into these songs.
For the production we trusted our music in the hands of Former DC Talk drummer Rick May. Rick has worked with artists like Jeff Anderson, House of Heroes, Staple, Donovan Hill, and up and coming indie rock band The Kraze. Rick is awesome and we can’t believe how we’ll the music has turned out. We’ll always be grateful for the friendship we have found in Rick, his wife Dawn, and son Conor.
We can’t wait for everyone to hear the new songs. I hope that they will be a blessing!
